More than 200 city parks mapped for mobile app

This tech-related note was brought to our attention via Inside Vancouver. The city has released a Vancouver Parks app which is available for free download. The main feature is a Google Map of the city's 200 plus parks (which are also catalogued alphabetically on the app). Click any placemark to get park information and maybe even a picture or two. If you’re looking for details beyond location and basic amenities, you’ll be redirected to the Vancouver Park Board website by a button on the bottom of each park’s page.

Still, the map and current location finder is worth it if you’re out with your dog and you need to find an appropriate spot for it to go the bathroom as soon as possible. And the new app is certainly an improvement on the Vancouver Votes app (no great feat), the last mobile and tablet service released by the city.
